The Emerton family have a long history in Bedfordshire.I am a descendant of Edward Emerton and Mary Watts through their son William, who migrated to Australia.I am not sure if John Emerton, whose headstone is shown here is part of my line, but information I have in a book re the history of the family states that many Emertons are buried in the St James Church Cemetery.
